When I plug in my headphones, I hear no sound coming through?

The first step would be to make sure the headphones you are using work. Test them on another device like a computer jack. If the headphones work, or the sound is spotty on the device, take the device apart, locate the audio jack, un-solder and remove it, and then find a replacement for it.
