Preguntas 367 Ver todo

system wont turn on, I get no lights unless plugged into charger.

I tried to do a hard mod to my N3dsxl and when i went to test the system to see if it would turn back on, i accidentally put the battery backwards on the pins. Ever since the system wont turn on I get no blue light, and where the blue light is will get a breif faint flash of red if i try to turn it on while plugged in. Looking around forums this has happened to a few people and they indicate the daughter board is the culprit, but I am more wondering what on the daughter board could have failed?

Found it, updating for future reference. There is a voltage regulator on board its a small 8 pin BGA chip just above the fuse and to the right marked with 7048. You will need hot air to replace it but its totally doable, though the only part i could find was on aliexpress.

Can you show a diagram of this chip? I can't figure it out based on your description. I have the same issue. I have a spare device with a working board, and potentially access to a micro-soldering station worth several thousand dollars to do a transfer of the necessary parts.

Sounds like you have fried the voltage regulator, these components don't like to be reversed, also these boards are multi layer and are very sensitive to heat and the components including the "reg" are all surface mount and near impossible to replace.

Im sorry to say you may be up for a new board.

I'm not afraid of surface mount im just trying to identify the component. I have already been through the diodes, fuse and caps that seem to involve the power supply portion of the board. I havnt found a voltage reg as of yet, I do have a suspect transistor and two IC's i cant identify one of them is a QFN that looks to control A,B,X,Y button presses and c-stick movement. The other is a small 8 pin bga package that is the size of a smd resistor.

Yeah there will have to be a reg on there somewhere to account for voltage abnormality in the battery, apart from that im at a loss my self
