White screen after $100 part repl for shattered screen?

EXPERT AT MY COMPANY TOLD ME WHICH PART TO ORDER AND installed it. BEFORE, the phone worked; the shattered screen was being held together with the screen protector. Now, I get calls and have a white screen. I can sometimes see a little of the screen behind the white. Expert now says replace it.

haven't searched here yet, att can't won't help, haven't tried apple store, just in case, out of warranty...

Any other ideas for when I can get back to it?

That problem can mean that you have the wrong type of LCD being used. Are you sure you have an iPhone 3G? What is the model number on the back of the phone? It should read "A" followed by 4 numbers.

I had this problem as well, I bought the screen and frame and now I have the white screen of death and the hard reset does nothing. Prior to installing this screen there was no problem with the LCD and even the first few times I installed it it was fine then it just went white then black and I reformatted it so now the white screen is back but I'm at a loss.
