I have the exact same beats headphones as you but mine isn't the wireless version and my left hinge has also broken I am starting to think that this is a common default in the studio version of beats.

I have the wireless ones and after a year of having them they have been great but the Right hinge broke for me. I have the right tool to take off the screw, but ordering parts from Switzerland is a pain. I just need the head ban my self. ( FYI apple is covering me underwarranty for this, but only if I have the receipt :( )

But I agree the amount of video and articles I see this seem to be a common problem. Just expensive heads sets made with super cheap material.

same with me. I just rigged it and fixed the problem ... I used 2 key rings for support and electrical tape for a quick fix. Before the bracket was broke and not fitting correctly around my head and now cant tell there was a problem..

Hi Dennis,

You should be able to do this, though it may take some time to be able to do properly. I just performed a disassembly and, though my headset had to be put down for science, I now have an available headband unit if you are interested for purchase. Feel free to contact me to negotiate price if you are interested.

I will be posting something of a teardown in a few days, in case you want a preview of what will be required.

For anyone's information, the guide mentioned is here: Desmontaje exploratorio de Beats Studio 2.0

I'm not exactly sure which parts are broken, but theoretically it might be possible to get away without soldering (especially if it's the side OPPOSITE the charging port), however I wouldn't let soldering dissuade you from attempting the repair - most of the wires are not particularly thin and the contacts aren't unreasonably close together - with some time and patience even someone new to soldering should be able to get them working.

Seeing as my pair doesn't have left or right labelled anymore, could you clarify if you need parts from the side with the charging port or the side with the push button? The only side that I could salvage from my complete disassembly is the charging port side.

Thanks for reply.

The part I was speaking is the following:

The side is the one with the charging port. To clarify is the side with screws under the plastic disc. I discovered that the broken piece is most of all for aesthetics. Therefore I may replace it but if I don't replace it is not a big deal :)

I had to double check, but the headphones I own have no writing of the word "studio" on them anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if you had the first version of Beats Studio, and mine are version 2. I could be wrong, but either way I wouldn't assume any of these parts (or instructions necessarily) would work for yours.

I am sure I have the 2nd generation of the studio as my model is the following:

The black part with the logo "STUDIO" is the part I am looking for. I am surprised that yours do not have the logo there. Is it possible that I explain you badly the first time?

I am actually also looking for the headband. Do you still have it? Is it in good conditions? Thanks :)

I also have this same issue. I have the parts to fix it but I can't tell exactly where or how to install the new hinge I purchased. Does anyone know how to replace these?

I have the Studio 2.0 wireless. The lights on the charge port side have gone out... I wore them while running (like I always do) but the lights went out. So I took them apart to let dry. Now I don't know how to put them together again (like humpty dumpty)... I have searched the web. The deep groove in the band is blocking me. Lol

Fixing it is kind of a pain in the ass. I was able to get the hinges off from eBay.

To replace them, you need to remove the cushion on the side of the broken hinge. Then, you'll be able to see the screws (I think they are star shaped) and remove all of them until you arrive to the motherboard.

The hinge is screwed to the headband so unscrew that. Afterwards, you see that in order to take off the broken hinge, you'll need to disconnect all the cables off the motherboard (I highly suggest you to take pictures of the connections before unplugging), that's because later you'll need to solder all of them.

Remove the broken hinge, screw the replacement one, and place the flat cable in the midle, then solder the cables that go to the main motherboard and pass the rest of the cables through the hole so they can go to the speakers, etc.

This part is a little tricky, in order to make the hinge and the part of the headphone to stick together, you'll need to apply pressure to both pieces so they can seal together (in my case I use a little twiser and gently pressed till they clapped).

Continue reassembling, and then solder the rest of the cables. Screw the speaker back into place, and put the cushion back again.

And there you go, you'll have your headphones working as new again. In my case I repaired the left side and 3 days later the right side broke, it's a similar process either way. I was lucky I bought both left and right hinges for like 20 bucks
