Why does my haptic feedback keep turning off on its own?

there is no setting turned on to disable haptic feedback and there is no power saving mode turned on. the only thing that turns it back on is if I smack the bottom or if i drop it on the ground. does anybody know how to fix this problem on my lg g vista?
