How can I get the tracpad icon , as my computer crashed and when wiped this disapeared. thanks

Apparently, there is no solution to this ULTRA-SENSITIVITY issue. This Zenbook UX490UA cost me quite a bit of money, and it’s steadily driving me completely CRAZY. My solution is I’ll NEVER, EVER buy another ASUS Laptop in this lifetime…..

I think the problem is in the Elan touch software. I had the same software and problem on My ASUS laptop. I now have a Lenovo that has the same problem and uses the same Elan software. I think the software theyre using needs to be rewritten and upgraded. The Computer makers need to be made aware of it.

I have mine on the lowest sensitivity setting and it's still too sensitive.

I have same ULTRA sensitivity issue. Sent email to ASUS tech support. response was "there is no adjustment for the track pad"

I fixed the sensitive "tap" on my ASUS T100HA. I tried to find upgraded drivers with no avail, then found the "ASUS Gestures" app already on my computer, which let me turn off tapping.

Disable all options in "ASUS Gestures" app but tapping and doble tapping, that fix it.

I just bought a refurb Asus Zenbook UX462DA. It was pre-loaded with Windows 11 Home. Straight out of the box it had a super-touchy touchpad. It jumped around and acted as if I was tapping on everything the mouse cursor passed over. I seem to have fixed this. I went to 'Settings', 'Bluetooth and Devices', scrolled down to 'Touchpad' and selected it.

At the top-right there is a On/Off switch with a drop down. This dropdown has a 'Reset Touchpad Settings and Gestures to Default' option. Click this reset option. For me this fixed the sensitivity problem - so far! It's been 30 minutes and still ok.

Something else I did and you might like to try is turning off the advanced gestures as someone suggested earlier. You can do this on the same 'Touchpad' settings window. Scroll to the bottom of the list and look for 'Advanced Gestures'. In the 'Advanced gestures' settings, turn all the 'Three-fingered' and 'Four-fingered' settings to 'Nothing'.

I hope this helps you as well.

I got nowhere with MS's instructions then found this site. I followed your instructions for touchpad over-sensitivity. It was already on "Default," but I clicked on it anyway. But I think you're right, the problem is actually the 3-finger & 4-finger gestures. It wasn't the clearest menu I'd ever seen, but once I got to them, I set them both to "Nothing." [Wearing arthritis hand/wrist braces I believe exacerbated the problem.] Thank you very much!

some touch pads are just dramatic. maybe the sensitivity is so high due to an emotional assembly.
