rondo8746, try a reset first.
Reset the processor by unplugging power for 2 minutes, then plugging in. Press and hold the "Surround Mode <" and "Surround Mode >" buttons on the face of the receiver, and press "Power/Standby" once. Once the display starts flashing, release the Surround Mode buttons and the unit will be reset.
