Purchase and replace battery

Razer Blade 14" 2014

Hello all,

I have a Razer Blade outside the warranty, and I live in a country where Razer does not service laptops (Brazil). Do you guys know what is the part number or where I can buy the battery for the Razer Blade 2014? I saw a tear down video so it's not complicated to change it, but I'm having a hard time finding the part online.

Thanks,

Hey guys, thanks for all the input!

Actually Razer support was pretty nice: since I opened the ticket before my warranty expiration, they honored the ticket I opened and fixed my laptop without any costs! (My warranty ended in January and I sent the machine to them on March).

So far is working fine, if happens again in the future I will try this idea of building your own battery pack.

Cheers!

finamore, It sounds like the batteries are pretty expensive even if they can be found. Have you considered having your battery rebuilt or even rebuilding yourself. You could end up with a pretty good battery for a lot less. I will post a couple links for you to check out, but do not be afraid to google search for your self as there are lot more sites to check out on both Having your battery rebuilt or DYI rebuilding guides. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Looks like you took my answer and ran with it. I really like that second link. I've rebuilt several batteries and battery packs.

@mayer , have you always had good luck with your rebuilds, I have done a few power tool batteries and they worked OK, I do have a couple laptops with s**t batteries that I may try this winter.

- de

I've done best with "pack batteries" like in wireless telephones. You open the packs and it usually a couple of rechargeable batteries with soldered bridges. They charge you $18-32 for $2-4 worth parts and a couple of dots of solder.

BTW - how about deleting Ace? You have more up votes from me now than from him.

Thanks mayer, I do try to give informative answers, and appreciate your support, I do check the yes box on a lot of your good answers but do not have the option to choose your answer? As far as Ace, have not heard from him in a while and do not expect to.

- de

OK, lol, if you do happen to run into him, tell him to just delete his account and that may negate any history. You can only vote on answers, you cannot accept them unless you ask them. Unless you are a moderator. You can vote to have the answer accepted but it takes five of those for that to happen and we seldom get people to vote at all on anything. Must be a millennial trait to just take and not even say thanks. But they probably think we get paid for doing this. BTW did you get a tee shirt after hitting 500 rep points?

I just replaced mine. Ordered the battery from cheap-laptop-batteries.com and paid $115 USD for it. Shipping took about 3 weeks from China. Installed with the help of a teardown website. Ordered a kit from Amazon with a torx t5 driver to remove exterior screws for about $7. She's good to go!

Can you give us a part number on that battery or a link to it?

- de

Oddly enough the part number is "Betty" I'll post an image.

I would really like to have the old battery so I can tear it down, and write a guide for rebuilding them. I'll be happy to pay the shipping cost.

Razor has you in a choke hold. You can only get the part from them for an outrageous fee. Personally, I'd tear the old one down, see what the components are and build my own.

Razer had the battery made just for the Blade, and they absolutely refuse to sell them. The warranty on the battery is only one year, and is not covered by an extended warranty. Once the battery goes, that's it - you now have a desktop computer.

I've gone round and round with Razer on this issue. The only option is to take apart the stock battery and hope that you can find the cells they used to make it.
