Why does the speaker not turn off when headset is plugged in?
Sound comes from both speaker and earbuds. It is tinny.

This comes from a damaged AUX jack. You will have to replace it in order to remedy your symptoms. You will have to be able to solder in order to achieve this replacement but it can be done.

I was able to solve the problem by holding down the center and menu buttons for six seconds until the apple symbol appeared. Found that advice in the online manual.
