My dc jack needs replacing every year.

This laptop has been driving me crazy, i owned it for the past 3 years and already changed the dc jack 4 times! every time i spend around $30 on it's repairs Is it worth it to keep maintaining it? what is a permanent solution for this? do you recommend me selling it and buying a new laptop? and if so how much would i be able to get out of it?
