Why am I getting a cooling problem message?
I get a message to shut down immediately because of a cooling problem.

Joe Petner, you did not tell us what model Satellite you have. That message usually originates just before the CPU is shutting off its own power when it reaches a certain temperature that the designers of the CPU deemed was unsafe. The error could be caused by a bad fan, clogged air inlet vents or overheating at the CPU due to clogged heat sink or poor thermal paste. You'll have to disassemble it and clean it out and make sure that the fan functions etc.
