The iPad was dropped on the volume button. The volume can no longer be used to increase or decrease volume manually. Also I tried to use the digital volume on the screen, but it seems stuck on mute. Screen comes up that says"mute " and stays there making very difficult to use the iPad.

Hi there! It sounds like the volume controls may be stuck. If you can't wiggle the volume down button and get it to stop engaging, you may have to reseat or replace the button cable. The volume controls are fairly easy to access once you open the iPad.
The on/off/volume cable is in the corner of the iPad
Follow the opening guide up to step 5. Then you can decide if you can fix any displacement, or if you need to disconnect and remove the button cable for replacement. Hope this helps, good luck!
