Can I replace the backlights behind the buttons?

Hi everyone, I've had a gs4 for about 1.5 years now and a few months ago I noticed that the backlight on the back key stopped working. The button itsleft still responds normally but the light doesn't turn on at all. This small detail is really aggravating me. I'm positive this isn't a software issue, and I've tried going through settings and all that. My question is if it's possible to replace those lights without having to replace the entire display assembly. It imagine it would be simpler and way more cost efficient

Please Help, Thanks

Hi there !

I have read a lot of things about this. This is not actually a blacklight but just leds inside of the buttons. You can replace them but this is very very risky as you need to remove the glass (heater + spudgers), which is very close to the weak lcd. I used to do it on a completely cracked S4 glass and the lcd just broke so we had to replace the whole front panel (which includes the buttons).

The buttons are hold with tape on the front glass.

I hope that all this is more clear for you now

Have a great day !

Vincent
