My screen has gone blank and wont boot up!

hadn't USED MY NOOK (WHICH I LOVE) SINCE LAST HOLIDAY BUT SADLY ITS GONE BLANK OR RATHER GONE LIGHT BUT WITH SHADOWY LINES ON IT AND WONT BOOT UP!!
