Hi
I have a iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 with a SSD 256GB & 1TB HDD.
Do I presume that the replacement of the SSD is the same as the Dual Drive Kit install EXCEPT my system already has the cabling and the SSD behind the optical drive, so I don't need to do steps 17 - 33?
But I am guessing where the SSD would be, can you confirm?

You know the old saw about Assumptions. Study the guide and notes (not just look them over) before starting.
Obtain the recommended tools, every job is easier when you use the proper tools.
