How do you fix water damage?
I was with my friend and they pushed me into there pool and my phone was IN MY POCKET!!!!! Now it is all wet and I don't know what to do. Please help!!!

First of all dry the phone thoroughly with a dry cloth. Take out the battery and dry it as well. DO NOT put the battery back in the phone and try to power it on. Now get a bowl and fill it with enough rice to cover the entire phone. Put the phone in the rice until it is complete covered and put the battery in the rice also. Wait at least 24 hours before putting the battery back in the phone. Power it on and hope for the best.

Kasey, skip the rice. The "rice trick" is one big myth. Placing your phone in rice is equivalent to doing nothing. It does not prevent any kind of corrosion or fixes your phone. The best thing to do is to stop using the device, (remove the battery) and to totally disassemble it. Then clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. This will displace the water and stop corrosion. It it okay to submerge a board in isopropyl alcohol. Check this guide to show you how to do it. It was written for an iPhone but all the points are still pertinent to your phone as well. After that, air dry all the components. Do not forget to clean the connectors on the board as well as the cables. Then re-assemble with a new battery This is not optional but a must to avoid failure later on. " Check your board for any missing or damaged component. Water damage is the toughest to trouble shoot and to repair. Hope this helps, good luck.
