Can you separate the Home button from the ribbon?
Can I change just the ribbon cable and keep the original home botton?

No you can't seperate the button and don't try you will lose touch id forever

So why can you buy the ribbon separate?
Because in the way it is manufactured with the ID components.
You can buy the ribbon seperant yes but a new flex will only give you the funtion of the clicker not the touch id..
The orignal ribbon cable is tied to the motherboard so when you use another home button it won't reconise touch id
