No backlight after lcd replacement

Hello everybody!

I have a problem with my MacBook.

I've replaced the lcd with a new one: when I turn on the Mac, I see a very very soft image on the display.

The back light doesn't work...

Anybody has an idea of what can I do?

Is there any fuse or similar to check?

Thanx in advance for who will answer to my question!

And if you need more information, don't hesitate to tell me! ;-)

ps: sorry for my english, I hope you can understand =)

Update

The correct model is MC207, the one made out of white plastic material.

Is there a fuse to check on the inverter board?

Thanks

Teo

Teo, here is the location of the fuse.

Block Image

The fuse is F9800 which is a 2amp 32 V SMC fuse in a 0402 package.

Your generic ID covers 127 different machines over about 6 years. Some of these have LED backlights and controllers /aka fuses. Others have CFL backlights and inverter boards.

If you purchased a used display it may have a bad backlight.

If you indeed have an early model in plastic you could check the inverter boards and cabling. Some of the mid range aluminum models also had TFT screens with CFL backlights but from about 2010 on they started using LED screens.

If there was liquid damage that shorted out the display the problem may be on the logic board not the display, inverter or cables.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
