I may have worded this incorrectly so Ill try to explain, on the back of a s3 lcd there is a section with some chips on and also the connector for the button ribbon, this is the part I want to buy as I have broken 2 of those connectors for the button flew to go into. is this possible?

Basically any injury on the screen or its parts require full replacement.
Send a picture of your screen and check what exactly is broken
