Wnen i tap the on off button on the front of the PS3 slim the light goes from red to green for just a second or so and then the green light goes off, and at not time does anything appear on the television screen. What could be the problem?

the fan comes on and stays for about a half second LESS than as long as the green light!

Power supply. Depending on which power supply you have you might be able to fix it. Youtube the power supply fix psu in sum models they had the power supply with to screws that you can adjusted and most of the time fixes it.

the fan will come on for a half second less than the green light stays on for!
