Charles Nix, why would you. The cables are readily available and they should be a lot cheaper then a new computer. What are the last three digits of your serial number. With that we can properly identify your MacMini and can help you finding the cables. Is it just the cables that are damaged or is it the connectors as well?

Thanks for the quick response. Serial number is YM93712719X. The technician who looked at the MacMini said the HD cable was damaged and that the interconnect board plug was damaged. The heat sensor is disconnected and broken. He said he'd have to get a new hard drive from Apple, which doesn't seem right to me. I have a new HD I'd like to install, so I don't want to get a new HD from Apple. Thanks guys. This is very encouraging.

I'm not sure if the interconnect board is damaged. The technician and I talked over the phone. I'm sure I could find out.

Thanks oldturkey03. I thought replacing the interconnect board (just the sound of it seems intimidating) was beyond me. I was lost, really. Thank you very much. I feel empowered and that may be a greater service than the money I will save.

Charles Nix, right now, having done a quick search, I found the Hard Drive Cable with Thermal Sensor for $6.95 and the Mac Mini Interconnect Board for 14.95 at powerbookmedic.com I am sure that there are more places that have the same price. So those are definitely cheaper than a new computer. Of course, you know to find the repair guides right here I would go ahead and repair it ....
