Replacing the logic board?

I recently dropped my iPhone5 in the toilet (whoops!) and kept it in rice for about 65 hrs. After removing it from the rice it appeared to be in working order until the next day when I went to take a photo of something with the rear-facing camera. The screen is either blank or blurry and does not allow you to press the center button to take the picture. Also, unless I immediately hit the arrows to move to the front-facing camera, this is disabled after a minute too (I have to completely close the app and reopen and immediately hit the button to get front-facing). I decided to take the phone to a local iPhone repair place to see if I just needed to replace the camera and his diagnosis was that the cord to the camera was "fried" with some "visible scarring." He said my only option is a new phone or replacing the "mother board." When Googling about this, I'm seeing the term "logic board" and reviewed the guide on this site. Is this the same thing? Will replacing my logic board fix the issue that I'm having? Any insight is greatly appreciated -- about to take a vacation to Mexico and don't want to be without a camera!!

The logic board is the core component of a phone, Having that replaced is actually worse than just send it to Apple for a replacement. I'm pretty sure he's just trying to rip you off by just repairing the faulty board and charging you for a new one, which is almost as expensive as a replacement phone from Apple.

And the Genius bar is quicker anyway
