Preguntas 104 Ver todo

None of the LED diagnostic lights are lit

I asked here before that my early 2009 imac which i shipped to my girlfriend is dead after violent handling in shipping(dropped)

so my girlfriend asked someone to opened it up and plugged in power cord, she told me none of the LED lights are on, I'm not an expert but after I read some of the posts that I feel like this gonna be serious problem, meaning power unit and logic board are all dead? including screens???

Is there anything I need to check? could it be cables detached I'm hoping its gonna turn out just a minor issue....otherwise Im not gonna spend hundreds dollars repair it, since its gonna cost even more than the value of imac itself

(#4 LED blinked at first time power is connected, but immediately turned off, then it won't lit up everytime they powered it up later)

I would first check the wall outlet (seriously voltage problems there won't help). Also check that the power cord is firmly and completely plugged into the back of the machine. (You wouldn't belive howmany times i've heard "Well, it LOOKED connected".)

The next steps involve troubleshooting the power supply (most likely culprit) a very advanced DIY project. You'll need the right tools and details of the power supply output voltage which I do not have-link is to a similar machine for information purposes only . Possibly you could find an electronics/computer repair shop to help with this. I've looked here and on the web and can't locate one.

if the power supply is not problematic then some other component (RAM, HD, logic board) is.
