Anyone tried CelMetro for iPhone 4 MIC repair?

Hey There!

I recently dropped my iPhone 4 on a hard surface and the MIC suddenly stopped working during calls. I searched on the internet for some solutions and came across this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-n1LJEK3...

It seems to be a complicated repair process for an average person. Has anyone tried sending their phones to CelMetro?

Awaiting for suggestions.

Regards,

Lawrence

no its not complicated its simply removing all the screws and disconnecting the cables carefully so you can take the motherboard out... the mic is located under the motherboard on top of the proximity sensor... its fairly easy and probably a min. there is a guide on it here... Is your iphone gsm or cdma?

the lower mic is responsible for calls... its not on the mother board its located on the charger dock connector... i think that would of did it sry i said the upper mic... iphones have two mics... the upper mic is responsible for sound intake on apps while the bottom mic is for calls... its still an easy fix though, but lets see what happens when it returns...

Its not the upper microphone, seems to be a motherboard problem. I tried changing that through one of the local technicians but no luck. Ended up shipping my iPhone motherboard to CelMetro as instructed by their team and on their website

Will post the outcome once I have my iPhone back.

gtcoodyscoops, be careful you are not being made part of some interesting spamming. The question by the OP refers to the same company that reference is made to via the video, and the OP is then posting a link that he sent it of to that particular company. Keep your eyes open on this one, it sure looks like a decent (if there is something like that) attempt at spamming. Spamming on ifixit is not tolerated :-)
