Can the camera lense bezel be replaced?

Im am not sure how the camera lens glass broke. It doesnt seem to effect he picture quality but the crack is noticeable. I had it in an OtterBox commuter case. I was wondering if it is easy to repair the glass part without having to rip apart the entire phone. And if so, where could one get a replacement? Google has yet to provide me with answer. Thanks in advance.

Hi Benjamin

I just analysed the camera lense i can see that the glass is pasted probably with a double sided tape to that white plastic piece as shown in these pics Pic 1 and Pic 2.

So it should come out without taking the phone apart.

I am not sure we get just the lense as a separate spare part.

Still you can measure the diameter of the glass and probably compare it the diameter of any previous HTC phone or a Sony phones as they both use same kind of round glass as lense cover.

If you think i answered your question please rate (score) and mark it accepted. :)

Thanks

Same thing happened to me. My two year old was sitting in my lap, using the phone for two minutes. When I took the phone back the cover was cracked. He didn't leave my lap, or drop the phone. It was obviously cracked from him squeezing a little too hard when using it in kid mode. This kid can't muster up enough strength to pull apart the plastic tabs on a piece of string cheese, how on earth was he able to crack the lens cover? Answer being it's too big and too thin. I've had iPhones that have been through !@#$ and never did a lens cover crack because it's a 1/4 of the size and made of a durable material. Back to Apple I go.

It sounds like a lot of us are having this issue. So I posted the iFixit guide on "Camera Lens Glass Replacement," showing with photos exactly how I replaced the glass. Let me know if this works for you and if there any photos or edits you would like to add in order to enhance the guide.

Easy fix. Amazon "HTC One X camera lens replacement". Just pop out the cracked lens with a knife. Pop in the new lens, just make sure the side of the lens with black paint or shading faces in. $10

My lens cracked after flying. It seems to be like your eardrums when the pressure changes. If your phone had a good airtight seal, this would explain why only some people have had this problem.

The repair was very simple, using the HTC Evo 4g lens ($9.99 kit from Amazon). It is real glass not like the thin plastic original lens. The only problem is that the lens is a little thicker and protrudes so slightly above the bezel. I put a very thin TPU plastic case to protect it and the beautiful Aluminum case.
