why when i power up my emachine all u hear is a loud fan? emachines w5243

bernettafolmar dp ypu have a multimeter with which you could check your power supply? Have you checked to make sure all connectors are tight? Has this started all of a sudden? Remove your RAM and see if you get a POST Beep
