wifi antenna shield and logic board fork, what is the use?

Hi!

Can anyone tell me what is the use of the fork beneath the yellow screw seen in this photo? http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/diPxJ...

While replacing my home button flex I found out that the phone was opened before as the yellow screw holder is no longer soldered to the logic board (as it should be I think). There is also a fork above it, that makes contact with the shield when the screw is tightened. Now, the phone works, but I was curious what is the use of this screw assembly, because I managed to put it back so seemingly all parts make contact, but I can't tighten the screw completely. Can it damage something? Can I fix it somehow so the whole thing stays in place, without soldering?

Thank you in advance.

It is soldered to the board and the fork helps hold it, this round nut breaks off on a regular basis, I really wouldn't worry too much about it, if you are a pro at soldering then you could try to repair it but have no worries that it's not there otherwise.

Don't worry, the fork holds a tiny threaded nut that falls out all the time, this is something that Apple needs to work on, hopefully it's not floating around somewhere in your reassembled phone, you cant tighten your yellow screw because there is nothing for it to mate up with and you should remove the screw so it cant fall out in your reassembled phone and short something out, it's good for the screw to be there and tight but it will be fine without it.

So Mitch, are you saying that the fork actually holds the nut and the nut shouldn't be between the fork and the logic board, soldered to it? Are you sure about this? Because then I'll simply remove the nut and the loose screw and live it like that.
