Camera Shutter Wont open.

Hi

Hopefully someone can help im at my wits end!

did a repair today to an iphone 4 front glass assembly (first repair) it went fine and everything seems to be working apart from the camera.

i can open the app but the shutter just wont open, anytime it has (maybe twice maximum) it has just shown black.

i know its possbile you can knock on off the jumpers off during assembly on the mother board but ive checked and judging by other photos its still there (although its that small its hard to tell)

ive re-booted the phone several times, stripped and cleaned the connections and also reset the phone but nothing has worked.

can anyone give some advise?

Thanks

Here is my first step, re-check your work. For the Camera (back camera) to work the Front Facetime Camera must work. So pop up the Front Camera Flex and then carefully and perfectly reconnect it to the Logic Board. Do the same for the Back Camera Flex. Put the iPhone back together. See if it helped. If still problem, you may have damaged a Logic Board capacitor, these can be difficult to ferret out. The Back Camera may be faulty and need to be replaced, or the Front Camera may be faulty and need to be replaced. I would start with making sure the Flex Cables are securely in place.

hi thanks for your help.

there was never any certainty the phone would ever work when i got it, neither camera works.....and further to this the backlight now wont stay on for more than a fraction of a second when unlocking the phone, i think the phones maybe screwed.

Best thing I would Recommend is to test the parts on a working iPhone. I personally have one that is mostly taken apart to test functionality. If anything you could try to put the device into DFU mode and restore the device that way to make sure it was restored properly. Mainly sounds like your having firmware issues if the backlight and camera(if tested in working condition) are not corresponding to proper factory functionality.
