When was this MacBook Pro bought?

I have a MacBook Pro that a friend gave me that has fallen to the NVidia failure. It is a mid-2007 but I have determined that it was manufactured in June 2008 by using the serial number. I was wondering, since I cannot get any credit card statements or a receipt, if anyone could tell me how to find the purchase date Apple has. It says "Valid Purchase Date" on the Apple support page but it doesn't tell me when that was. I really need to know because it could fall under their replacement program. If it doesn't, would there be any case that I could make to get it replace by Apple. I have gotten 8 replaced in the past but they were still under the 4 year timeframe. This one is probably right on the edge of the window.

I might be wrong but the genius bar people should have detailed records about the system, I would make an appointment since you have to in order to get more info from them and since your there , might as well bring the laptop and have them see if the laptop qualifies? ( I was not aware of a time limit for the nvidia recall ? )

Thanks, I took it to Apple and it turns out that, even though being a mid 2007 model, was bought on January 24, 2009. They guy ran the test and it didn't come back as the NVidia failure so I showed the guy the receipts from 8 other MacBook Pros that I had taken in and told him they were all having the same issue. He called the manager out and the logic board is now being replace free of charge. I'm very happy, I got the computer for free and its getting fixed for free. Thanks for you help.
