Download the Tools & Upgrade to macOS 10.11

  • First thing's first: You will want to upgrade to macOS 10.11, which is the latest "officially" supported version of macOS for the 4,1 Mac Pro.

  • Provided you are on at least 10.6.6, you should be able to download the installer from the Mac App Store by following this link

  • If you are on 10.6.5 or earlier, you will need to first upgrade via Software Update to the last release of Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to get access to the Mac App Store.

  • You will need to download two different packages to complete the upgrade:

  • Mac Pro EFI Update

  • Firmware Update Tool (hosted at Netkas in the bottom of the first post)

Descargar las herramientas y actualizar a macOS 10.11

Lo primero es lo primero: Debes de actualizar a macOS 10.11, que es la última versión oficial de macOS que soporta el MacPro 4,1

Teniendo al menos la versión 10.6.6, deberías de poder descargar el instalador desde la MacAppStore [http://itmss://apps.apple.com/app/os-x-el-capitan/id1147835434?ls=1&mt=12&ign-mscache=1|siguiendo este link]

Si estas en la versión 10.6.5 o anterior, deberás lo primero, actualizar el software a la version de Snow Leopard (10.6.8) para tener acceso a la MacAppStore

Necesitarás descargar dos paquetes distintos para completar la actualización:

Mac Pro EFI Update

Herramienta de actualización de firmware (ubicada en Netkas en el final del primer post)
