  • Another thing we noticed during the initial teardown is the irregularly-shaped blob of metallic material at the center of the S1.

  • In all likelihood, this is a heat sink for the S1's tightly packaged processor.

  • Under the X-ray, this area lines up nicely with the centering magnet for the charger. Possibly Apple designed the magnet to serve a dual purpose—aligning the charger, and bleeding heat from the S1 SiP.

Otra cosa que notamos durante el desmontaje inicial es la mancha de material metálico de forma irregular en el centro del S1.

Con toda probabilidad, este es un disipador de calor para el procesador compacto del S1.

Bajo la radiografía, esta área se alinea muy bien con el imán de centrado del cargador. Posiblemente Apple diseñó el imán para cumplir un doble propósito: alinear el cargador y expulsar el calor del S1 SiP.
