    Hi there!

I’m glad to have found this article and site, thanks!

I did however notice a mistake or spelling error.

At the part where it says, “Step 1 Starting off”, there are four bullets with some text.

    The error is in the text next to bullet nr four, here’s a snipped section with the error;

A mouse will sometimes use potentiometers, or rodary encoders to…

RODARY should of course be ROTARY, the other word does not exist.

Glad to be of service :-)

Ditto to the person who said that the picture was a huge help with that little spring. I could not figure that out! I cleaned enough moisturizer out of one tiny section that I got it working correctly again! Thank you!!

Saludos.

how do i put it back together, though?

windycitywoman - Contestar

okay, but how does it go back together?

windycitywoman - Contestar

The way you put together (I assume you’re interested in the wheel) is as follows, looking at the mouse from the above, buttons at the top.

- The spring that’s spooled up goes to the right side of the wheel, the spring that’s a bit more curvy goes to the left side of the wheel.

- Try to assemble the plastic piece with the wheel - they should look as Step3 / Pic1.

- Put it back into the housing, to give you a guidance how it should look like.

- Take it out and disassemble.

- Add the left spring with its rectangle corner, one end of it to the wheel holder, for the other end there is a small hole on the left part of the plastic piece.

- Add the wheel. Try to roll it, you should hear the usual clicking voice.

- Put the right spring to the right side of the wheel, to the rod.

- Put the assembly back into the housing. Try to click the wheel - the right spring should bounce it back.

Hope this helps.

Thank you thank you! I had opened mine up to do a thorough cleaning and SPROIINNNNGGGG… then I had no clue how to get it all back inside. Your 2nd photo on Step 2 gave me exactly what I needed to be able to reassemble!! So thank you!

If anyone’s wondering, the old-fashioned mouse (with the rubber ball underneath) has the exact same scroll wheel assembly as the kind with the ‘light’, like in your photo.

Could you please tell where can I find the replacement cable for B100 mouse or the white connector ? I have damaged the cable and I need to replace it. I have another cable but do not have the connector.

Thank you so much – my mouse was behaving erratically, so I carefully took it apart, found it full of fluff and gunk and in the process of cleaning it out, SPROIINNNNGGGG – couldn’t have figured it out for myself, so your guidance saved the day. Thank you.

Who invents these things?

I want to say thank you for this, I couldn't figure out where the spring went on the right side of the wheel that one. It's sprung off but that was as soon as I opened up the top of the mouse I didn't know where it went when i put it back together. Oddly enough I didn't need the spring as much as I thought because the internal wheel spring the one that makes it click and stop actually provides just enough to push it back up, I know it sounds weird but it is true but I know I needed that spring to go back in somehow somewhere so thank you for having this online. After replacing the switches which is what I did worked flawlessly in replacing them but that darn spring. Heh.

4 to 5 years I've had this mouse never had a problem, except for the switches this is a darn good mouse overall.

This guide can be used also for logitech M90, it is nearly identical.

But but but but.. THANK YOU!!!! Finally I could fix my mouse as well thanks ONLY to this tutorial! Incredible, I had to think a bit more about the second part (re-assemble everything again) but at the end, after a bit of thinking over it and with calm, I could fix everything back again.
Really thank you, God bless you for the help, brother! xxx from ITALY! Valentina
