The Computer Would Not Turn On
The laptop is not charged
The laptop needs juice in order to run. Without it, it won’t turn on. Plug in your charging adaptor to your laptop and wait for it to fully charge. If the laptop won’t turn on even after plugging in the adaptor, then there are several issues regarding this. The battery may be faulty, the adaptor may be faulty, or the laptop adapter port is faulty. Please check our replacement guide for any of these issues.
The battery is damaged
The battery holds the energy needed to make the laptop run. If the battery is damaged, then the laptop won’t turn on. To learn how to replace the battery, click here.
The laptop screen is damaged
The laptop may be on, but the screen doesn’t look like it is on. This could mean that the screen is damaged in a way that it won’t show you anything. A screen replacement is recommended and the link to the screen replacement guide can be found here.
My Internet Won’t Work
The router is the issue
The routers internet light is still or not blinking (in some cases).
Make sure the router is connected to the internet or reset the router. Make sure the ports are in thoroughly.
The laptop Is On Airplane Mode
Airplane mode allows the laptop to not connect to the internet, receive calls, send calls, receive texts, send texts, etc.
Try looking for the airplane mode button and all you have to do is click it to take the laptop out of airplane mode and automatically connect to the internet.
The laptop is connecting to the wrong internet name
Sometimes your laptop will be connected to the internet but that internet connection will be slow.
Look to see if you are connected to the desired internet you wished to connect to. To do that click the Wifi button on the bottom right of the laptop and you will be able to see what wifi you are connected to. ''
Computer Battery Doesn't Last Long Anymore
The battery life of your computer dies sooner than you expected.
Too many applications running
The applications or programs in your laptop can contribute to quickly draining the battery life. Some applications use more energy than others. Many applications altogether use a lot of energy. To prolong the battery life, get rid of recent and unnecessary applications. Most recent applications don’t damage the functionality of the computer. If not sure, then a factory reset may be beneficial.
The settings are not in battery saving mode
When the computer is not in battery saving mode, many factors come to play that drains the battery life more than it needs to be. The reason for that is that the computer prioritizes your comfort over battery saving. When the computer is set to battery saving mode, the performance of the computer lowers but the functionality is kept the same. It won’t be as appealing than before, but the computer saves its energy to live longer.
The Battery Is Old
Computers that have been used for a long time (over a year) may have its battery getting worn out. Excessive laptop usage and overcharging can quickly make the battery old and worn out. Computers with worn out battery need its battery to be replaced so that it can have a new and refreshed battery life.
Something is Wrong with The Fan
The fan is operating in a way that does not sound normal.
Something is inside the fan
If the noise is inconsistent or is very loud, then there may be some debris or dust stuck in the fan. If that is the case, then an air duster will help to remove them instantly.
The laptop is getting too hot
The fan helps cool the laptop down from overheating through running many programs and applications. However, the fan has a limit to how much it can cool the laptop down. Get rid of unnecessary programs (especially the heavy duty ones) to lessen the heating. If that is not possible, then a laptop cooler device should do the trick.
The fan is damaged
The fan will get permanent damage over time due to getting old and having accumulated a lot of dust and debris. This may be time for a fan replacement which the instruction to how to replace one.
The Laptop Overheats
The fan is not working properly
The fan is the main player in cooling down your device and if it is not cooling down the laptop enough, then the heat will overcome the fan’s power. Consider a laptop cooling pad or replacing the fan.
The hard drive is not functioning correctly
The hard drive holds all the memory of your computer and at the same time, runs that memory. If the hard drive is functioning in a way that runs too much, then the laptop will get heated. Consider taking down or uninstall recent programs or replacing your hard drive.
There is dust in the laptop
The computer can take in a lot of dust over time and the dust will spread throughout the laptop. Having dust in the laptop will produce unnecessary heat to the laptop. Open up the laptop from the back and use an air duster to blow the dust away.
The Touchpad Is Unresponsive
The cursor won’t move, even when using the touchpad (mouse).
The setting disables cursor movement
The laptop has a setting in which it makes the mouse unresponsive intentionally. To enable cursor movement, press the Fn key and f5 key together once.
The touchpad driver was deleted
The laptop is run by many drivers and if the driver for the touchpad is not here, then the touchpad won’t work. To fix, then a factory reset will bring back the driver for the touchpad. If that is not possible, then installing the driver from the official Toshiba site is another way.
The touchpad is damaged
