I got my old super Nintendo out for my younger kids to play and all my old games start but none of the Characters come up on the screen. Like I can see all the background to super Mario
world but there's no Mario or Koopa's running around. On Donkey Kong he doesn't pop up, and also none of the characters pop up on the introduction to Spider-Man Maximum Carnage. There's a few blocks in the left hand corner at the top of the screen but I have no idea why I can read the game and see a background but there's just no characters. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm completely at a loss.
Sincerely,
Not tech-savvy at all

Red light turns on, the tv reacts as if it is receiving a signal, but nothing happens. The screen remains black. No sound either. I am using nearly mint condition a/v cables that are Nintendo brand. They work when plugged into N64. They had previously worked with the snes as well. Have tested many games. No luck. What do I do?

Try cleaning out the connector pins where the cartridge goes. Open up system and check for corrosion at those points. Once opened, remove cartridge connector and clean underside really good as well. 91%-99% isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. Start there.

Hello I have a1992 SNES everything works but the player 1 controller responds incorrectly. My controllers works great I tested both in my SNES Jr. When I plug the player 1 controller the buttons do wrong things like left arrow button do what START button do or Y button what A button do. In the player 2 side works fine with both controls. Whatcan i do to repair it? Also the ribbon that connect the controllers board with the moderboard it’s fine.

Power light turns on but tv reacts as if it’s not receiving signal. Tried 2 different TVs and 2 different console to tv cables. Screen doesn’t even “black out”. It’s as if nothing is trying to happen.

I just turned on my childhood SNES. It’s been acting up lately but today in the middle of playing super mario all stars the screen just slowly faded to black and then the console basically started rebooting by itself. I took the game out and tried another game. It wouldn’t boot. It turns on but no signal to the TV. I use an HDMI converter. I tried mario kart next and it booted normally. Then I tried mortal kombat and now it doesn’t work at all. I’m also using a universal AC/DC power supply. Could anything I’ve written be an issue?

I have a game genie that loops over and over after about 7 seconds… can't find anything on google about this issue. I have a working game genie to compare against so it isn't my system. Any ideas?

I have a Switch that after changing the front trim now does not output to the LCD screen, the digitzer works as you can hear the sounds made by the menu when swiping.
I've tried a new LCD, same issue.
The strange part seems to be that it still outputs to the TV. (And works perfectly)
I've tried to find some solution to this but can find no other references to this problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am having similar issue with Zelda (Link to Past) - I have two game cartridges that both freeze about 5 seconds in to loading (when triforce triangles are moving to center of screen. Both games freeze at exact same place. All my other games load and play just fine. Can anyone help?

So not too sure who can help me, I have two SNES consoles, both work, power on, load games. On BOTH, none of my 3 controllers work. I find it hard to think all three controllers are bad, and I find it hard to think both consoles controller ports are bad. I read something that maybe the power supply may be the culprit.. Any one know what else I should rule out before I attempt to buy new controllers?
