Screen Freezing
The screen suddenly freezes while using the laptop.
Software Error
If the laptop’s screen has frozen, this may be because of a software issue. The memory might be overwhelmed, or your processor might not be able to process all the tasks thrown at it. Try manually turning off the laptop by holding down the power button for 10 seconds, then turn it back on. If the screen is still frozen, proceed to the next step.
Laptop Is Overheating
If the device feels hot to the touch, leave it to cool down and come back later. Overheating can cause issues with the processor, and if the processor can’t complete tasks, the laptop’s screen might freeze up. Restart the laptop once again and if the screen is still frozen, keep reading.
Screen Is Broken
If the above steps fail then the issue may lay with the screen panel itself. Refer to this screen replacement guide here: {insert link here}
Keys Sticking When Pressed
When I press down the keys, they keep sticking or don't move back up.
Particles Stuck Between Keys
If keys seem to stick down or are not fully being pressed, there may be small particles lodged between the keys and frame of the laptop. Try blowing air around the keys to clear away these particles and test them to make sure the issue has been resolved.
Substance Holding Down Keys
If keys continue to stick down, there may be something keeping them held so it cannot move back up when pressed or moves up very slowly. To fix this, first pop out the stuck keys. Then, using a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol at the tip, gently rub around the back of each key and their plungers. One dried, place back the keys and test to see if the issue is fixed.
Keys Are Damaged
Pop out the keys and examine them for any cracks or damage on the plungers. If there is noticeable damage, the plungers may need to be replaced.
Fails to Boot Up
My device will not power on.
Laptop Is Low on Battery
The laptop may not be charged enough to power on. Try plugging the charger in for a little while and trying again. If the laptop has been charged and does not power on, proceed to the next step.
Externally Connected Devices Need To Be Removed
Sometimes, external devices can cause issues with the operating system on a laptop. Disconnect these and try powering on the device. If this fails, proceed.
Laptop Needs To Be Power Cycled
When there is residual power left inside the internal components in the laptop, it may fail to boot. To release the leftover power, hold down the laptop’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Try to power it on. If this fails, you may need to replace the laptop’s internal hard drive.
Hard Drive Is Faulty
A malfunctioning hard drive may cause the laptop to not boot up properly. Please refer to this guide {link} to replace the laptop’s internal hard drive.
Muffled or Distorted Speakers
When sound comes out of my laptop, it sounds very quiet and isn’t clear.
Software Error
If you are having issues with audio, your first step should be to restart the laptop.
Audio Source Needs To Change
If you're playing music or other audio from a specific app or website, try playing something from a different source to see if the problem continues. If the problem is only happening with one specific source, then it may be an issue with that app or website, rather than your laptop.
Drivers Are Not Updated
Faulty or outdated drivers can cause problems with your Laptops Sound. To update your audio driver, go to the Device Manager and find the Sound, video and game controllers section. From there, you can right-click on your audio device and select "Update driver."
Speakers Are Broken
If these solutions fail you will likely need to replace the speakers, refer to our replacement guide for information on how to replace them (insert guide here)
Device Overheats
After some time after I start up my laptop, it gets very hot.
The Battery Is Overheating
The battery itself is bad and it overheats every time you use it. If this happens you need to replace the battery.
Error Pops Up On Laptop
If an error pops up on your screen that says (ERROR 90B) this means there is malfunction in the cooling fan and it needs to be replaced.
The Fan is Dirty
Your laptop fan might make a loud noise because it is dirty and it needs to be cleaned. Also check for the air vent for the fans; they might be blocked or dirty and need to be cleaned up. This can be done by blowing compressed air around the fan and vents.
The Fan is Damaged
If cleaning the fan does not fix the issue then it may not be functioning properly. This could mean it needs to be replaced, especially if there are any noticeable damages such as dents or cracks.
