Asus G55VW Troubleshooting
This is a guide on how to fix common problems associated with the Asus G55VW.
Application is not responding
An application has frozen and or won't respond to the computer commands.
Open task manager
To open task manager, press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard. Press task manager on the menu that pops up, and then select the unresponsive application and click "end task".
Power off the computer
If using task manager didn't work, then it might be necessary to shut off the computer and restart it. Hold down the power button for a few seconds and then release it.
Disk Drive is not reading
The disk drive is not reading the disk that is inserted into it.
Make sure the disk is clean
The disk drive might be working properly, however a dirty or scratched disk might make it difficult for the disk drive to read it. To clean it, use a wet cloth and rub it over the back end of the disk. The, use a dry cloth to dry it out. If that doesn't work, then the disk might be too damaged to read properly or its a hardware error.
Hardware Error
If the disk is still not reading, then it could be hardware error. The computer might need a new disk drive for replacement.
Audio is not Working
The sound is not displaying through the speakers.
Check the driver
Go to the search bar and type "Device Manager", then hit enter. Once the menu pops up, click on "sounds, video and game controllers" and select your audio drive to check to see if everything is working properly. In that tab , press "update driver" to update driver if necessary. Else, uninstall and reinstall the driver.
Make sure the correct sound device is being used
Type "sound" in the search bar menu and hit enter. In the menu there multiple speakers, find the one that says "default" that has a green check mark besides it. If it is the wrong one, then selected the correct on a hit "set as default."
Unable to connect to the internet
The device is unable to connect to the internet
Reset the router
Sometimes the internet can be fixed by resetting the router. Do this by holding the reset button on the router for 10 seconds. The WiFi should be back on within a minute or so.
