Touchpad Not Responding
When I try to move the mouse nothing happens.
Disabled by Accident'''
The touchpad might have been disabled on accident. To enable/disable press Fn+F7.
System not updated
Make sure your computer is up to date on all updates. Older versions of the software may not support the touchpad anymore. Update and try restarting the device.
Acer Aspire Won’t Turn On
When I press the power button nothing happens.
Faulty battery
To fix this you will need to replace the battery. There is a battery release latch on the bottom of the computer.
Note: A way to check if this is a problem is to plug in your computer. If your computer still cannot start while it is plugged in, then you will need to look for another solution.
Broken charger
To fix this you will need to replace your charging cable. If the problem persists you will need to check for another solution.
Faulty Power Supply
Plug another device into the wall outlet you are using to ensure that it is not faulty.
Charging port is not working
To fix this you will have to open the back of the computer and replace the port.
Noisy/ Overheating
My computer is making an audible whine/ the bottom of my computer keeps getting very hot.
Dusty/ dirty fan
Cleaning the fan will make the sound go away and help to cool your computer.

Note: your computer can also overheat if the computer cannot properly ventilate. Try to avoid keeping your computer on soft surfaces like pillows that prevent the vents from being exposed.
Damaged Fan
Replace fan by following the guide (hyperlink).
Out of Storage
Laptop starts to run very slowly when out of storage, or malfunctions.
RAM
You might experience some symptom such as laptop crashing and slow responds. You would need to add more RAM to make the computer run at it normal speed. Click here on how to add RAM.
Hard Drive
If your computer is running consistently slower than it used to or you are unable to download large documents then you will need to replace your hard drive with one with more memory.

Note: Using an external hard drive or USB drive is also an option that is much easier and only requires a functional USB port.
Malfunctioning Ports
When I plug something into my USB port nothing happens.
Virus
Run an antivirus test to ensure that there is not any malware interfering with the port connection
System not updated
Make sure your computer is up to date on all updates. Older versions of the software may not support the port anymore. Update and try restarting the device.
Dirty Port
A build-up of dust and other particles in the port can disrupt the transfer of information to the laptop. Use a can of air to clean this out, then restart the computer and try the port again.
Broken Port
To fix this you will need to replace the USB port which will require you take apart your computer.
