Is the front glass the same as the 6.?Are the 6s and 6 front glass identical? Im about the start glass only repairs and was wondering if the glass I've ordered...
Respuesta a "iPhone 7 home button not working after screen replacement?"I have a theory. If there's no damage present and it doesn't work after powering up... Give it 15 minutes. I'm finding recently that after a battery disconnect it is taking the home button a while to initialise. This could be misinterpreted as a damaged button. After a while it'll work.
Respuesta a "Discussing methods for performing a glass only repair as a business?"This is the machine for.sale
Respuesta a "What removes polarizer glue?"I carefully apply a little wd40 to all but the very edges of the screen (careful it doesn't go into backlight) Leave to act for a minute Use a thin shaving style razor blade ( the really thin double sided ones) to scrape it off working from bottom to top only and in lines. Clean the blade after each stroke Only use one blade side per screen. It'll be too blunt after one .
Respuesta a "Ipad mini 2 lock & home button not working after digitiser replacement"The lock button isnt working correctly because of some bad soldering on the new glass. it is where the home button flex joins to the flex on the glass and eventually down to the connector to the main motherboard. it is possible to peel it apart gently and rework the solder connections if youre feeling skilled. The erratic touchscreen response may be due to exposed digitiser connections at the bottom of the glass. normally, i use heatproof tape to cover the row of touchscreen connections on the bottom left when looking at the back of the glass . Once this is done, another piece of tape over the exposed components of the home button flex part will prevent a home button actuation when you put pressure on the bottom of the ipad.
Respuesta a "Discussing methods for performing a glass only repair as a business?"Sounds like too high a temperature and / or incorrect position of the oca sheet Temperature should be 40 ish degrees, but because air is compressed in there you might find it as high as 60-70, so reduce the thermostat to 30-35 and check again. The oca sheet I've found is better being applied to the glass so you can check there's enough overlap on the borders before bonding. 1/2mm all the way round is best
Respuesta a "Discussing methods for performing a glass only repair as a business?"Sealing the backlight with silicone is effective for iPhone 4, semi effective for 5 series and useless for the 6. Loca is too messy to really be practical these days, except for Samsung panels where it's more preferable as the panel is more fragile (they can break if you laminate oca sheets on them) Therefore I use a 5 in 1 laminate and autoclave machine (it's called a ko mag) for iPhone and other LCD based phones and loca for the Samsung stuff. The 5 in 1 machines have an air compressor and vacuum pump built in and require little maintenance. Oca is best applied to glass first, then to the LCD. You can buy now the glass with oca attached, which minimise dust problems. Autoclave temperature should be 40 degrees and for 16 minutes
Respuesta a "Discussing methods for performing a glass only repair as a business?"I've done screen refurb first with loca and now using oca with a komag machine Loca: Has anyone tried sealing the backlight? I used to use silicone sealant around the edges of the lcd where the backlight meets the glass. You can also use copydex latex adhesive. iPhone 6 is tricky though because there's very little bezel around the backlight to absorb the glue. When squeezing the glue out to the edges, use central pressure only and watch the glue flow itself right to the edges. To do the corners, apply pressure to the top centre / bottom centre for a few seconds so the glue flows back inward toward the centre, then release. It'll flow perfectly into the corners with minimal seep. Use xfactor or aps loca only. Uv light fur 10 secs Use a paintbrush and a baby wipe to sweep up the excess round the edges while it's still wet, then cure for 5 mins Oca Best results with Mitsubishi sheets and polarisers Cheap ones cause bubbles and low touch sensitivity Sometimes small bubbles after autoclave disappear on their...
Respuesta a "Proximity sensor not working after iPhone 6 screen swap."That's why you need to heat it up. Some don't have foam it seems yes, but all have adhesive which has to be softened up. It won't rip the sensor off then, it just kind of turns to goo and it slides away.
Respuesta a "Proximity sensor not working after iPhone 6 screen swap."You lot are just about to love me to bits, because I'm going to save a !&&* of a lot of money and grief. I've checked out the sensor and the cause of this problem and it's none of the answers above. If you look carefully at the old screen, left behind is a double sided foam where the prox was. What's happening is as you lever the flex out, no matter how carefully, the foam pulls on the prox such that it damages either the solder connection, or the leads of the actual device. If it's the solder connection, a quick all round with a rework wand or possibly soldering iron will remake the dry joints and get you working again. If the leads have broken, game over sadly, you'll need to replace it. The theory of putting tape around it and it then working isn't to do with light, simply that the tape is putting pressure on the joints and they work again. Prevention is better than cure though right? Just before removing the flex from the old screen, simply heat the front top of the glass until it's too hot to touch,...
