Thought I was so smart replacing my own battery--I now get a message that the battery is fully charged but when I connect to the computer, iTunes does not come up and I get a message that the battery is very low. Does anyone know what I've done wrong? K
Was really dubious about being able to change the battery myself but took a shot and it seems to be working. I agree that the little spudger thing is not sufficiently sturdy-it got frayed right away. I had better luck getting the cover off with a paint scraper which chewed up the plastic a bit but got the job done. I tried to keep both halves close together but the headphone jack ribbon slipped out, a screw fell out of nowhere, another little plastic bit fell out--I was sure this iPod would never work again--but it all went back together and then appeared to be dead but it turns out that the battery needs to charge and everything seems to be working. It's a miracle and I'm so impressed that I was able to do it.....even though it took me a LOT longer than twenty minutes. Thanks ifixit! Kim
