nice write-up. i always use a heat gun so not sure how effective the i-opener is. i wanted to shortcut not removing the logic board but since this is a customer’s ipad I did not want to risk it. removing the logic board is not difficult AT ALL. the most delicate part of this process is removing the screen, because you do not want to chance cracking it.
REMEMBER if your new touch screen does not work (no touch screen) go into the device manager and uninstall i2c hid device. restart the laptop and the driver (and touch) should work again.

this step i do not understand. because you do no have to remove the motherboard for a screen replacement.
i’ve gotten away with not removing the PSU at all when removing the motherboard. havent had any issues
