My son’s switch had a black screen after sitting idle for a month while he was away during summer break. It would not take a charge, or so it seemed, but the LCD light turned on and off when we docked the console. I checked all the obvious solutions and read solutions to the above posted question. Then followed the link to Nintendo’s website hoping to read about a recall all to no avail. Fortunately, I read an article about the “console not charging, a black screen and won’t wake up from sleep mode”. D’uh It froze in sleep mode, the battery died and a proper reboot solved the problem. Which is holding down the power button for 12 seconds along with a couple other omfg that’s so simple solutions! And then I’m the ifixit goddess until I explained the problem and hard restart solution See for your self… https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/...
I found it’s easier to remove only the bottom mounting bolt then lift the caliper to remove the brake pads. The caliper remained in up position and because it was attached it posed no risk of falling off the rotor and damaging the brake line.
I noticed the same thing and wondered if it was necessary. Thanks
