Respuesta a "Why is my device not issuing alerts?"The first thing you should do is check that your Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector is not muted. Check that the button on the middle left side that says “Mute” is not pressed, otherwise all the alerts will be shut off. If its not pressed, it might be a positioning problem. The Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector must be on the windshield and have an unobstructed view in order for it to receive strong signals. If you have done all this and you are still not getting any alerts, the audio might be faulty and you will want to replace it. For more help visit the troubleshooting page. Respuesta a "What might be causing a dim display?"The first thing you should try is resetting the display brightness; you can do this by pressing the Dim button. When you hear two beeps after pressing the button, the display has been returned to full brightness. If it doesn’t work, you may need to replace the screen of the SPX 5300 Radar Laser Detector. Respuesta a "How do I decrease the number of false alerts?"The main reason you are getting a high number of false alert might be because the settings and channels of the Detector are incorrectly adjusted. The factory setting for the device is Highway Mode. If you change your setting to City Mode, the device picks up only stronger signals. To change modes, press and release the city button; when the letter “c” appears on the screen, your Detector will be in city settings. The POP mode sensor is also very sensitive, so limiting your use to highway and rural driving should reduce the number of false alerts. To turn on and off the POP mode, press the Dim and City buttons at the same time for four seconds; two beeps mean it is on and one beep means it is off.
