Explicit directions on how NOT to proceed when both strips remain intact would have been helpful. For example, prying out the battery from the short end is ill advised. Working the long side of the battery below the volume control is safer.
The strip edges were not visible/ accessible on my phone. In hindsight, Taptic Engine removal should have been required.
In general: Watch several videos before diving in. Wash your hands, and/or put on some snug fitting nitrile gloves. If your eyesight is not what it used to be, then use a magnifying light lamp or perform in a very well lit area. Re: Step 1 - At first glance, the two screwdrivers included in the kit look very similar; in order to avoid confusing the two, place a piece of colored tape on one of them. RE: Step 2 - push gently with two thumbs, but don't overdo it. The back plate will only slide forward 2mm - a very small space. Re: Steps 4 & 5 - Recommend using the kit box, or several small trays to set aside the 2 battery connector screws and pressure contact plate. These pieces are very small! The kit's screwdrivers are magnetized to hold the screws, but not the plate. Re: Step 7 - Some of the battery adhesive may come loose from the phone and battery, and ball up into a wad. An exacto knife can be used to gently excise any wadded up portions of adhesive.
