Mi Problema

Wife's 32G IPod Gen 2 died...dead battery. Earlier, I'd used an IFIXIT kit to replace a battery in a IPhone 4 and decided to tackle another Apple product.

Mi Solucion

Repair went perfectly. The hardest step was the initial removing of the screen from the case. (I did find that very careful use of an Xacto knife . . .

Mi Problema

The device was still relatively useful and the repair isn't too hard.

Mi Solucion

Quite easily - the hard part is getting the case apart.

Mi Consejo

Use the metal thin tools to release the plastic bezel - the cable to the digitizer is super fragile so be careful removing the bezel after releasing it.

Mi Problema

The iPods were eating battery juice a lot quicker than when they were new.

Mi Solucion

On the first iPod, I tore the flex circuit to the front panel. I was having trouble locating the clips, so that may have been a factor. On the second iPod I made a full-scale guide for finding the clips and used a number 17 ch . . .

Mi Problema

The battery was dead, and we didn't want to buy a new IPod Touch just cause of that...

Mi Solucion

It was perfect! The only "difficult" part was the soldering. But it was pretty easy in fact. No worries about that!

Mi Consejo

Just do it! It's much more cheaper than buying a new IPod Touch, and if you really can't do that, t . . .

Mi Problema

I went through the normal plug-in for my Ipod, and nothing. I found your site and bought a replacement battery. Installation was as easy as following the directions and looking at the photos. I didn't unplug the touch screen as advised, but had no problem bringing my Ipod back to life. It was like C . . .

Mi Problema

After charging overnight my battery would go to red line in a few hours.

Mi Solucion

The repair went very smoothly. The hardest part was getting the ipod apart. The 7 Philips screws were difficult. Of the 7, 5 came out ok, but 2 had head damaged by the time I was done.... but there was enough left to reassemb . . .

Mi Problema

Battery was not holding charge

Mi Solucion

Opening case hardest part ... takes a while of prying (to the point you might not think it will ever come apart).

One of the opening tools broke doing it ... I then resorted to using guitar picks to hold case open in one spot as I pry'ed in another ... eventually it . . .

Mi Problema

The rubber gasket around edge is sooo delicate. I had several pieces when finished.

Mi Solucion

I will repair/replace gasket with bath tub calk.

Mi Consejo

Need a better photo explaining the construction of front glass, plastic bezel and gasket.

Mi Problema

Ipod touch battery lost capacity over the years, decided it was time to attempt a replacement

Mi Solucion

I generally consider myself a good fixer. This repair is accurately described as "very difficult." It was really, really hard to separate the front panel glass from the case. I ripped the delicate cable a . . .
