The part order process and how-to provided is great. Getting the device open wasn't as easy as it looks in the video. I ended up using other tools. Ultimately the new battery worked but it wouldn't charge. The iPod is dead again. So, either it's an aging replacemen . . .

Careful not to slice off the plastic case opening tool tip when you are working the case open (releasing the tabs)

It went okay although it revealed new problems, even after getting a power supply to keep in charge the thing would show a folder with a [!] telling of a hardrive failure and then it restarted itself. And it did this when the drive was disc . . .

The tools in the kit provided to open the case should be made a little more durable. After several attempts to open the case, and wearing out the plastic tools edge which rendered it unusable. I resorted to using a jewelers screwdriver to get it open and scratched th . . .
