The successor to the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 7 was formally announced by Apple on September 7, 2016. New features include a quad-core system-on-chip with improved system and graphics performance, an updated display, and a much applauded water resistance. Additional features include stereo speakers and upgraded cameras. The phone is lacking a headphone jack, but an adapter allows headphones to connect to the Lightning port.
There are four models of the iPhone 7. Model A1660 is available in China and the US. In the US it is available unlocked but subsidized with a 2 year contract with Verizon or Sprint, or contract free with various pricing plans. Model A1778 is available globally and in the US. In the US it is available unlocked but subsidized with a 2 year AT&T contract, or contract free for AT&T or T-Mobile. Model A1779 is available in Japan unlocked and contract-free. Model A1780 is available in China for the China Mobile network.
