Mi Problema

The screen on an iPhone 4 was smashed. Wanting to upgrade to an iPhone 6 and be able to trade-in old iPhone for the most cash back.

Mi Solucion

After a number of stops and starts in the process, I was able to successfully take the phone completely apart and put it back together. The hardest part for me was all o . . .

Mi Problema

Power switch stop working. Felt no spring/tactical feel to switch.

Mi Solucion

Went ok. Few differences from a 4s. IFIXIT instruction are very useful. I did find that the iPhone4 instructions were less detailed than the 4s. When lose parts would come into play the 4s instructions would call them out. This was . . .

Mi Problema

After about 4 years of owning an iPhone 4, the battery finally started to degrade to the point it would get a couple hours of use before shutting down. Mind you, I treated the device very carefully, never overcharging the battery overnight or other rookie moves that can kill it faster. So it had a g . . .

Mi Problema

Power Button unresponsive. Used "accessibility" settings to turn off iPhone. Plugged into charger to turn on. A pain in the you know what.

Mi Solucion

The power button was fine. Per ifixit, I went directly to replacing the iPhone 4 Power and Sensor Cable. Viola!

Mi Consejo

Mi Problema

Power switch on sister's iPhone 4 quit working a long time ago. Didn't depress or click at all. Battery would wear down quickly waiting for the screen to time out and go to sleep, and things would sometimes bog down without the ability to reboot the phone.

Mi Solucion

Repair worked like a charm. Took longer than . . .

Yes. I was very please with the engagement of advice from Ifixit and online help. But, unfortunately has not resolved the issue at this point.

Mi Problema

The button was no longer "clicky" hence my ordering this kit.

Mi Solucion

Overall, the guide was pretty straightforward, but getting the earpiece speaker to stay in place and the logic board to seat properly in the case during reassembly were the two most time-consuming steps.

It was quite the feeling of reli . . .

Mi Problema

Home and power button failure

Mi Solucion

If you take your time and have proper tools, everything will go fine. This was mostly simple for me as I have a background in repairing electronic devices.

Mi Consejo

Use proper tools

Have lots of lighting

Work on a hard, stable surface

Be gentle. The parts are small and delica . . .

Mi Problema

Both my daughter and I had iPhones with batteries that would not last the day. 30% by 2:00pm. Six screws in less than 10 minutes and I had both batteries replaced.

Mi Solucion

Great. Easy to complete.

Mi Consejo

Use a dishcloth as your work surface. It will help you keep from loosing those tiny screws if you drop one.
