The new Air inherits the old 10.5” Pro chassis, minus two of the four speakers, and the ProMotion (120 Hz) display. The iPad Air 3 can be identified by the model number printed on the bottom of the rear case: A2152 indicates the Wi-Fi only model A2153 indicates the cellular model for US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand markets A2154 indicates the cellular model for China and A2123 indicates the Global cellular model.
The iPad Air 3 front glass panel is held to the aluminum case with strips of adhesive. Once the device is opened, this adhesive will need to be replaced.
