Mi Problema

The fan on my MacBook Pro was reaching its end. It was terrible noisy ! I was in the middle of a programming project for the iPhone and making video guide for the new software, when the fan of my computer broke down. I had to stop all recording (Big Blue Yeti mic, ScreenFlow recording...).

Mi Problema

Old drive was becoming unreliable

Mi Solucion

Instructions were spot on.

Mi Consejo

Tweezers are a must on this repair. The small screws are easy to remove but the bulk of the time is spent replacing them when you do not use tweezers. I used a plastic knife rather than a spudger. Worked just fine.

Mi Problema

Fan bearing started getting noisy and then fan started to be slow/intermittent causing overheat shutdown of the MacBook.

Mi Solucion

Watched your video to see what I was in for. Seemed relatively straightforward. Opened up the case and got to the fan. 2 of the 3 Philips screws came out easy. One was REALLY torqu . . .

Mi Problema

The old fan had worn out bearings which caused lots of noise and bad performance.

Mi Solucion

The switch went well. Took about 30 minutes because the screws were stripped. The comments were very helpful.

Mi Consejo

If the screws are stripped, take a similar size flat screwdriver and put at 45 degrees into the screw so the s . . .

Mi Problema

CPU temperatures had started to spike on my laptop (80C or higher) while doing mundane things at low percentages of CPU, and fan didn't spin up to cool the machine. Apple did diagnostics, said all was well. Temperature Gauge Pro detected a problem with fan, however, so I ordered a replacement to s . . .

Mi Problema

Loud noises prompted me to take my Macbook Pro to the Genius Bar. They wanted to keep it for 3+ days to replace the fan, at a pretty significant cost. I happen to be blessed with a very smart teenager who cut his teeth on taking Mac's apart. Quick order on iFixit, an even faster delivery, and voi . . .

battery only lasted about an hour fully charged, and it the whole computer would rapidly overheat.

Mi Solucion

A bit scary. The battery went in without a hitch, but when removing the old fan, the socket ripped off of the circuit board. I ended up soldering the individual wires back on. Now it works great though! . . .

Mi Problema

The old fan had become noisy - bearings worn out probably. (After taking it out, I could see the blades spun crooked.)

Mi Solucion

Pretty easy repair, only 3 internal screws. The connector is a little tricky since it's so small, you tend to think you're gonna break it. Go slowly around the edges and it'll com . . .

Mi Problema

My fan was making a god awful sound whenever my macbook would start heating up. This had been happening ever since an unfortunate crepe experience where I managed to spill lemon-sugar syrup into my keyboard.

Mi Solucion

The repair was incredibly straight forward. It was a very minimal risk procedure.

Mi Problema

The blades on the original fan had broken and was making a lot of noise when it spun up.

Mi Solucion

I've opened the computer many times before so the repair was a piece of cake. ~5 minutes in total.
