Mi Problema

Downloaded smcFanControl, and discovered why it was running hot. It always ran hot, figured early Dual Core Intel model was "hot" literally as well as figurally. But with smcFanControl I could see right fan was dead. Confirmed when removed right fan resisted spinning.

Mi Solucion

Great. First got baggie for eve . . .

Mi Problema

The fan was making noise and getting worse.

Mi Solucion

The repair went flawlessly. Twenty minutes. In and out. Problem solved. iFixit's repair guides are great!

Mi Consejo

Make sure all the screws are out before you start trying to pry the top off.

My right fan was dead, never showed as running when I checked istat pro. Led to my mac running hotter than it should. Figured I would replace both since I already had to open it for the one.

Mi Solucion

The only complaint was UPS delivered my fans a day late when I paid for next day air. The only difficult part . . .

Right fan was not running and that was putting more burden on the left fan and some processes caused the machine to get too hot.

Mi Problema

Well. As like everyone, once you hear a noise, you start to get frustrated. The Noise goes off and comes back on, and keeps bothering you. So next step, is either break your computer, or take it to someone to repair it. and let them charge you a fortune to fix a little problem. which maybe you can f . . .

Mi Problema

My aging mac book pro began making loud fan noise whenever I watch Hi-def videos on youtube ( or on any other flash based video sites ). The fan noise got so loud, that I almost thought it was about to explode.

Mi Solucion

The repair guide from iFixIt was clear and easy to follow. I was able to disassemble my . . .

Mi Problema

Noisy fan on 15" MBP 1,1 -- Apple would not touch it because it is 'too old'. Baloney! iFixit to the rescue! All went very well -- new fan is quiet!

(Had already replaced other fan -- I do lots of video compression, and this thing gets HOT!)

Mi Solucion

Very well. Had to improvise with some electrical tap . . .
